Very soft handle, yet with its large flecks and having been spun in the traditional woollen spun method it has all the ingredients of the traditional homespun Donegal.

This yarn comes on cones covered in spinning oil, that ensures better storage. The yarn will show its true qualities only after thorough washing. We recommend washing in warm water with soap or wool wash a few times. This yarn blooms beautifully after washing and the final fabric will have a very soft handle, the colour might also get slightly brighter after washing.

We recommend always making a swatch and washing it before you start working on your project as this yarn is known to change its shape after washing (usually it slightly shrinks lengh-wise and might stretch a bit width-wise). This yarn has a fairly high twist and knits up on a slight bias, especially in stockinette in the round, however this will be rectified after washing and blocking.
It can be knit held single as heavy fingering weight or held double as aran weight.

This yarn comes from non-mulesed sources and is certified according to "Oeko Tex Standard 100".
